Tonya Dams Spirit Senior Scholarship
Scholarship Application
The Victory Spirit Senior Scholarship is named after an amazing 2005 staff member, Tonya Dams,
whom we lost in a car accident in November of 2006. Tonya's talent, personality and smile are greatly
missed and her spirit will never be forgotten.
Since 2006, Victory Cheer Company has offered a college scholarship to one graduating senior that
attended a Victory residential camp. All 250+ seniors that attended a camp or clinic in 2010 received
a scholarship application and our deserving recipient, Nicole Miller, from Spring Lake HS was
announced in October. Victory is proud to offer this scholarship opportunity again in 2011 and is
happy to announce that the Grandpa Bob Foundation has continued their donation, making the 2011
scholarship worth $1500.
Cortnee Burkhour, Victory's Camp Director and 2010 staff member Katelynn Ruhl are Grandpa Bob
Petrovich's granddaughters. Grandpa Bob passed away in November of 2006 and his family started a
foundation for charitable work, in his name. After years of watching Cortnee and Katelynn cheer, the
Grandpa Bob Foundation has chosen to contribute to Victory's scholarship program. Together we can
offer a large financial donation to help a deserving college bound senior cheerleader. I am so thankful
for Cortnee and Katelynn's amazing family for joining us in making a difference for Michigan
cheerleaders.
